The Safe Environment class and background check must be renewed every three years. To renew your Safe Environment training, you may attend a class again or renew online HERE. You must request the renewal of your background check at the Pastoral Center or the VOL School office.

You must also complete the Safe Environment Questionnaire and read the Technology Policy for Pastoral Work with Young People.
All school employees and CCD staff are considered to be Mandated Reporters and are required to immediately report by law if they have any cause to believe a child's physical or mental health or welfare is endangered. To report abuse/neglect in the child's home, call 1-888-4LA-KIDS (1-888-452-5437). To report abuse outside of the child's home or to the elderly or disabled, notify the police immediately. Within five days of the oral reporting, the mandated reporter must complete and submit the form listed below for the DCFS. The Summary of the LA Child Abuse Law provided by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the Mandated Reporter Form for Child Abuse/Neglect are included below for further information.
