We are living in a time when people are seeking clarity for their faith due to the confusions and struggles of daily living. There is no doubt that many Christians are trying to live their faith with honesty, but sometimes, living the authentic Christian vocation could become a real cross. The Christian life can only be successfully lived out when we open ourselves to trust in God’s will. To attain this, we need to be men and women of prayer and faith.
Faith is a supernatural gift of God that enables us to believe and trust in God’s will. Our faith can grow when we open ourselves to listen to God’s word and make it our own. Our Catholic creed offers us a prayer that can guaranty our trust and safety in God who created us in His love. When we profess the creed “I believe in one God creator of heaven and earth” this means that we are not alone, that God is our Father. He is our origin and our end. He created us because he loves us. He did not create us alone, he created the rest of humanity and the universe; this is why we are brothers and sisters in Christ. We cannot forget our brothers and sister in their life struggles. We are called to communion as a family of God’s children.
By professing “I believe in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son,” we believe that Jesus is the Son of God who was sent by the Father to redeem us. Jesus is the natural Son of God, He is our model. In Jesus, we see the face of God and the love of the Father. “I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life.” By these words, we believe in the real presence of the Holy Spirit who inspires everything good in us. The Holy Spirit gives us the sevenfold gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and the fear of the Lord. Dear friends in Christ, God is ever present with us in the Church and in the world through the Holy Spirit.
Let us go out into the world, brothers and sisters, to love all people with the love of the Trinity.
