Today is last Sunday before Ash Wednesday and Lent begins. This Sunday’s Gospel provides us with a wonderful image of God, who cares for us as a loving father. Jesus shows us God’s love, mercy, and forgiveness, and redemption as he teaches us to be faithful to God above all others. This is the time to call upon the Lord and plead for the grace to approach him in the Sacrament of Penance, confess our sins and be set free. We have come here today inspired by hope. We always have the certain hope that Christ will come in His mercy and kindness. If we fail to follow him in this life, we will be unable to follow him into glory. The choice is ours.
