Not many elementary school-aged kids can boast that their artwork has been displayed on a festival and Road race t-shirts
But Visitation Students Can!
What Inspired My Artwork ~ By: Haley Tran
Hi, my name is Haley Tran. I am in 6th grade. I have attended Visitation ever since Pre-K-3. I strive to do my best in everything. This is my first year entering the Cajun Fest T-shirt contest. My love for art inspired me to enter this contest. God gave me the gift to draw, and I want to use it to share it with others. I love to draw and paint realistic things like flowers and animals. It makes me happy when others enjoy looking at my art work. I hope I can continue my drawings and inspire others.
What Inspired My Artwork ~ By: Forrest Chessher
My name is Forrest Chessher, IV., and I am 10 years old. I was born in Bossier City, LA, when my parents evacuated for Katrina, so I've always been told I'm lucky! I have 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters, and I love to play with them. I am a 5th grade student and I have attended VOL since Pre-K-4. I love my school and hanging out with my friends! I am also a HUGE LSU fan.
I have been an altar server for the last 2 years and also enjoy running Cross Country. My favorite things to do are playing football with Kaden, playing video games with my brothers, drawing boats with my friends, Khristian and Evan, and creating my one-of-a-kind design Lego masterpieces.
I love music, playing Legos, and Minecraft. I love to build just about everything on Minecraft. I have built 8 different worlds which include an 8-story luxury cruise ship, several mansions, and much more. I even built the U.S. President's jet from a picture I saw. I am very creative and have great ideas for a business. I plan to attend Shaw High School and I would like to become an engineer or an inventor.
My mom encouraged me to enter my drawing for the Cajun Festival Road Race T-shirt Contest, so I did! I decided to draw a crab because it's my favorite seafood. I was so excited when I heard that I won! I couldn't believe it! Now, I can't wait to wear my shirt to the race.
On behalf of the Cajun Festival committee, we'd like to thank Hailey and Forrest for their hard work, and congratulate them on a job well done! Please place your orders for their one-of-a-kind t-shirts.
